As the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread across our country and even more rapidly across the globe, we are deeply concerned about its impact on all our stakeholders (clients, staff and our community at large). As a result, we are taking the prevailing situation extremely seriously and putting in place measures to help contain the virus’ spread.
As part of our ongoing disaster recovery plans, Taquanta has been set up to operate remotely. While the current situation may deem a full office closure somewhat premature, we have decided to move towards a full remote operating model over the next two weeks. This move, we hope, will not only help contribute to containing the virus spread, but likewise ensure our staff safety and wellbeing. Furthermore, the gradual transition will likewise ensure we are fully prepared for an office shutdown if the need arises.
In line with most organisations, we are taking the following measures:
- Restricting both local and international travel by our employees,
- insisting on the self-isolation of employees who have recently travelled abroad or if they came into contact with anyone that has recently travelled from the high-risk countries as outlined by government,
- implementing measures to ensure that our premises are adequately sanitised and
- supporting any staff member who feels the need to self-quarantine, specifically those with a compromised immune system.
Bearing the above in mind, we respectively ask that clients and suppliers help us curb the spread of the virus by preferably choosing to engage us remotely via email, video or telephone conferencing. We fully appreciate that given the extreme market volatility we are currently experiencing, that certain face-to-face engagements are unavoidable (albeit via suggested social distancing protocols). In such instances, we will aim to limit domestic flights by sending representatives located in or near the proposed meeting venue.
Given the fluid situation we all currently find ourselves in, we will endeavour to advise you of any developments/changes. Furthermore, all our staff remain available to you at all times.
Wishing you and your organisation all the best through this most challenging time.
